Do you believe that we will win? Grab your SEIU or Fight for $15 and Union swag and tell the world!

The idea is based on the #DontRushChallenge, a viral video trend on social media where people record and share short videos showcasing their transformations from everyday clothes and makeup to glamorous “going out” looks. We’ll be “transforming” into organizers in action in our union attire.

Follow the six easy steps below to participate in the #SEIU2020Challenge:

Check out some of #SEIU2020Challenge examples in this compilation video:

1. Use your phone to film yourself at home, in your everyday clothes. After a few seconds of this, grab your SEIU or Fight for $15 and a Union swag – this could be a shirt, hat, jacket, scarf, or bandana – and use it to cover the camera to end the shot.

2. Next, put on the shirt, hat, etc. and get ready to film yourself again, this time in action. Examples could include: attending a rally or protest, canvassing your neighborhood, talking to coworkers at your worksite (about the union!), or even phone/text-banking from your home.

3. To give your video the effect that you snapped into action, start the recording with something covering the camera – the same way you ended the previous video. Then, pull the covering away from the screen to reveal your new outfit and setting. Film a few seconds of yourself in action.

4. Now, you need to edit your two videos together. The TikTok app has built-in editing tools that make it easy to combine different videos. The basic editor allows you to upload clips from your library, cut these clips, and then put them all together. On Instagram, you can do the same thing. Upload your first video, then go to the video editor's “Trim” tab and add your second video there. This will combine the videos into one.

(Bonus points for getting your friends or coworkers to take the challenge and stringing multiple videos together!)

5. Finally, add your preferred song. Have fun with it! We like Pitbull’s "I Believe That We Will Win." This can be done directly on the TikTok app using the "+" icon and searching for the song on “Sounds”. On Instagram, you don't have the option to add music after recording, but you can save the Instagram video to your phone and then use TikTok or any other video editing software to add music.

6. Once you’ve added music, you’re ready to share your video on social media. Wherever you post, don’t forget to use the hashtag, #SEIU2020Challenge !
