SEIU’s Verrett: Executive Order Attacking Federal Unions is an Attack on All Workers

forSEIU President April Verrett issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s order to end collective bargaining rights for federal employees

WASHINGTON, DC – “America’s public service workers don’t work for profits, politics, or for glory – they serve our nation. The President’s latest unlawful executive order attacking federal unions is a direct attack not just on federal employees, but on all workers who seek a collective voice to bargain for a better future – and on everyone who relies on the services that federal workers provide.

SEIU’s 2 million members – including nearly 80,000 federal workers who are first responders and VA nurses, doctors, and hospital workers across the country – stand in solidarity with our union siblings at AFGE, AFSCME, NTEU and other unions. We will not let this administration’s union-busting tactics silence us or take away our rights, and we will not take orders from an unelected billionaire.

Across America, working people have been joining together across race, standing up to bad bosses and demanding unions. Worker power is unstoppable.”
