Come ready to learn, lead, and level up.
The movement needs you!
In July 2023, the inaugural HBCU Southern Summer Institute for Worker Justice (SSIWJ) commenced, presenting an impactful program developed through a collaboration between SEIU and Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. This initiative is tailored for HBCU students eager to explore the realms of social, economic, and political justice. Our mission is to bring forth, educate, and empower the upcoming generation of diverse labor and advocacy movement pioneers, with a distinct focus on bridging racial justice, civil rights, and worker empowerment. An enthusiastic group of nearly 40 students from a variety of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) took part in an intensive week-long initiative, immersing themselves in hands-on education and training centered on social justice and worker empowerment.
