San Francisco 1021 members took action to hold the city and county of San Francisco to the contract they had signed, promising San Francisco workers an accessible, affordable child care center on the San Francisco General Hospital campus. The city was found to be in violation of the contract and must now build and run a child care center to provide high-quality child care for city workers.

“Getting good child care for our city workers and nurses isn't just a big win for our members,” said SEIU 1021 member and San Francisco Vice President Joseph Bryant. “This is a pioneering effort to bring child care to public sector workers. We are proud that sticking together and pursuing every avenue available to us has forced the City to step up and do the right thing.”
