SEIU’s Henry: Clinton Child Tax Credit proposal another reason she is the only candidate for working families

WASHINGTON—SEIU International President Mary Kay Henry issued the following statement on Hillary Clinton’s proposal to expand the Child Tax Credit:

“Hillary Clinton’s proposal to expand the Child Tax Credit is another example of what millions of Americans already know: that she is the only candidate in this election who is right for working families. In the most consequential election of our lifetimes, SEIU members are standing together and coming out for Hillary Clinton in unprecedented numbers because she stands strong for us.

“We need a leader who understands that parents are working harder and still finding it difficult to make ends meet for their families. Hillary Clinton has sat with these parents and caregivers, and has committed to make quality child care affordable for all families. The extensive child care plan she has already proposed—especially limiting costs to 10 percent of household income, and ensuring child care teachers earn a living wage and can work in a professional atmosphere—combined with today’s announcement will help guarantee that every child has access to the early learning and care that paves the way for their future success. Hillary Clinton understands that investing in our nation’s care infrastructure is good for our families, good for our economy and good for America."
