SEIU’s Henry: Hundreds of SEIU members deliver a win for working families with Clinton win in New York

WASHINGTON—SEIU International President Mary Kay Henry issued the following statement on Hillary Clinton’s win in the New York primary:

“Americans are in the fight of their lives for better wages, affordable care for their children and parents, and for immigrant and racial justice. The extremist agenda being driven from the right proves the stakes couldn’t be higher. For weeks, hundreds of SEIU members from every corner of New York have spoken with their neighbors about why Hillary Clinton is the candidate who will fight, deliver and win a better future for working families.

“Tonight, united together, we moved her further down the path to being the Democratic nominee for president. SEIU members know how important it is to have leaders in office with messages of inclusion and opportunity, not exclusion and hatred. Hillary Clinton will stand beside SEIU’s two million members, and working families across the country, to ensure they can care for their loved ones and help their children have a better life.

“Our members stand with their brothers in sisters in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland and Rhode Island—along with the largest coalition of labor and progressive allies to date—to share one very clear message: when Hillary Clinton wins, we all win. SEIU’s ground force is unstoppable and they will not rest until Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee and our next President of the United States.”
