WASHINGTON, DC - After Senate Republicans failed to pass a heinous bill that would fund the Department of Homeland Security while derailing the president's immigration action, the Service Employees International Union's Executive Vice President Rocio Saenz issued the following response:

Following in the footsteps of out-of-touch House Republicans, the Senate GOP plays the Groundhog Day game of terrible decisions that undermine both our national security and families.

"It's high time they got it right: We aren't the enemy.

"If this is a preview of the rhetoric in 2016, Republicans are in for a rude awakening. With a majority of Latino voters supporting the president's executive action and 80% of them opposing efforts to block it, the message is loud, clear and certainly ready to make a mark next November."
