SEIU Commends Entravision's Bold Support for Commonsense Immigration Reform
WASHINGTON, DC - After Entravision Communications Corporation announced its support for commonsense immigration reform, Eliseo Medina, a long-time Latino advocate and Secretary-Treasurer of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), issued the following statement:
"In an unprecedented and historic move, a leading Spanish-language media outlet has joined the audience it has served for years in supporting comprehensive immigration legislation. We commend and thank Entravision for boldly joining the many industries and diverse communities calling on Congress to pass an immigration solution that will allow aspiring Americans an opportunity to earn citizenship.
"Entravision's decision shows their breadth of commitment to the Latino community in America. Members of Congress, who haven't already recognized the burgeoning economic and cultural influence of our country's Latino and immigrant communities, should take a page from their book and work in unity with the growing consensus of Americans to deliver a commonsense immigration law."
