SEIU: CBO Score Adds Momentum for Immigration Reform

WASHINGTON, DC - Upon careful review of the Congressional Budget Office's (CBO) score on the bipartisan immigration bill currently being debated in the Senate, Eliseo Medina, Secretary-Treasurer of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), issued the following statement:

The CBO score proves that the Senate immigration bill is good for our economy and that the momentum for commonsense immigration reform is growing every day. Opponents of reform can refuse to accept the math, but the fact remains that a sensible immigration solution with a roadmap to citizenship is the gift that keeps on giving, now and in the long term.

"Here lies an immigration bill that can quell the worries about the federal deficit by reducing it by billions of dollars, increase our GDP and enable the American workforce and economy to thrive. It's time to move forward and listen to the growing chorus of Americans who want aspiring citizens to remain in the country and walk the road to citizenship. Their call for reform is not only commonsense, but now justified by the math."
