WASHINGTON, DC - As Minority Leader Pelosi circulates a discharge petition to bring the Senate-passed bill to extend middle class tax cuts to the House floor for a vote, Mary Kay Henry, President of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), issued the following statement:

We strongly support Leader Pelosi's effort to bring the Senate bill to the floor so that House members can show the American people whose side they are on - the 98 percent or the top 2 percent. House Republicans have the opportunity to extend tax cuts for middle class families. The question is whether they got the message voters sent on November 6 that everyone must pay their fair share in taxes. That starts with extending tax cuts for the middle class now.

"There is no time to waste. The Senate has already passed this bill and the House should do the same and send it to the President's desk as soon as possible."
