New TV Ad: Nan Hayworth's Tea Party Agenda Leaves Seniors Behind
AFSCME and SEIU Partner in New Ad Detailing Impact of Hayworth's Plan on Medicare
New York, NY - Members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) today launched a new television ad in New York's 18th Congressional District that spells out what the Medicare plan of radical Tea Party Republican candidate Nan Hayworth means for seniors.
Hayworth, who sided with radical tea party Republicans to end the Medicare guarantee and turn it into a voucher program forcing seniors to pay $6,400 more per year and negotiate with insurance companies.
Nan Hayworth's agenda would require New York's seniors to pay more for less health care and force them to negotiate with insurance companies who are more interested in making profits than providing quality care. Her radical plan would end Medicare as we know it," said Seth Johnson, AFSCME Assistant Political Director.
"Nay Hayworth's extremist policies would cripple Medicare and jeopardize healthcare for our seniors," said Kevin Finnegan, Political Director, 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East. "Hayworth's Tea Party plan confirms that protecting healthcare for seniors is politically expendable."
AFSCME's "Perfect" and SEIU's "Train," will run on cable in the New York media market. A copy of the $180,000 ad can be viewed at http://youtu.be/abi40j6DlMQ or http://youtu.be/w_sfjLSEA2M.

ANNCR: It doesn't run on Metro North lines.
But that didn't stop Nan Hayworth from hopping on the Tea Party train.
In Congress, Hayworth joined radical Tea Party members to essentially end Medicare.
Hayworth would end the Medicare guarantee, and turn it into a voucher program...
Making seniors pay sixty four hundred dollars more per year ...
And forcing them to negotiate with big insurance companies...
Nan Hayworth rides the Tea Party train...and leaves seniors behind.
