New Hampshire Voters Say Lamontagne Is Too Radical In New TV Ad
Concord, NH - The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) today launched a large new television ad campaign in the state's gubernatorial race.
The new ad gives voice to real voters' concerns with Ovide Lamontagne's radical agenda that is out of touch with the needs of Granite State families. The ad features real New Hampshire voters, including rank-and-file SEIU members, talking about why Lamontagne's idea, from ending Medicare as we know it to rejecting federal funding for our schools, make him wrong for New Hampshire.
The $1.3 million ad will air in the Boston-Manchester broadcast market for the final three weeks of the election.
"We enjoy our individuality here in New Hampshire but Ovide Lamontagne is confusing that with thinking we shouldn't help our neighbors and build a strong foundation to move our state forward," said Joan Hamblet, an SEIU member from Portsmouth who is in the ad and works for the state of New Hampshire's the Department of Health and Human Services. "Maggie Hassan understands that we believe in strong schools and a strong safety net that includes Medicare for our seniors. Ovide Lamontagne is too out-of-touch."
"Ovide Lamontagne wants to take New Hampshire backwards with policies that would hurt seniors and schoolchildren," said AFSCME Assistant Political Director Seth Johnson. "New Hampshire needs a Governor who will continue to move the state forward. New Hampshire needs a leader like Maggie Hassan."
