Heinrich Earns Support of New Mexico Resident Physicians

CIR/SEIU Members Endorse Rep. Martin Heinrich for Senate

Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico members of the Service Employees International Union’s Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR) announce their unanimous endorsement of Representative Martin Heinrich for the U.S. Senate.

“We are the frontline of America’s healthcare system and are standing with Martin Heinrich because he’s a fighter for a strong middle class,” said Dr. Alisha Parada, CIR's Regional Vice President for New Mexico and an Internal Medicine Resident." “Martin Heinrich understands that our healthcare system can only treat the symptoms of a sick economy. Good jobs and affordable healthcare go hand in hand and we need Martin Heinrich to help put working families back in charge of our economy.”

“The path forward is one that focuses on creating jobs and puts the American middle class family first,” said Rep. Heinrich. “Healthcare professionals across this state understand the integral role that good jobs play in good healthcare coverage and how proper care helps sustain a quality workforce so I am honored to have the support of the members of CIR/SEIU.”

"Everyone knows that there’s a lot left to do in Washington,” said Dr. Nate Link, a resident physician who works at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. “Rep. Heinrich has earned our support because he’s focused on creating good jobs and protecting healthcare reform. On behalf of SEIU members working in the healthcare community, I’d like to say we will be doing everything we can to help elect Martin Heinrich as the next U.S. Senator from New Mexico."
