SEIU President Henry: McKinsey Institute Moves Jobs Debate Forward, But Americans Need Immediate Action to Create Jobs

SEIU International President Mary Kay Henry released the following statement on the McKinsey Global Institute’s report released today “An Economy That Works: Job Creation and America’s Future.”

“We applaud the McKinsey Global Institute for calling attention to the enormous jobs crisis we face and for moving the debate forward about how we create good jobs over the long term. With 30 million Americans still looking for full-time work, we need jobs now.

“America can accomplish great things when we put our minds to it. It's time for us all to step up and do our part--we need the private sector to reinvest in jobs that will rebuild our communities, we need banks to start lending to the small businesses that line Main Street, and above all, we need to take a leap of faith in the American value of hard work."
