SEIU Statement Following Senate Vote Confirming Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court

Washington, D.C. - Statement from SEIU President Mary Kay Henry on the U.S. Senate's vote confirming Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court:

The decisions made by the Supreme Court have deep and lasting ramifications for our nation's 154 million workers, such as equality in the workplace and a fair compensation for an honest day's work. America's hardworking men and women deserve Supreme Court justices like Elena Kagan, whose allegiance to equal justice and the rule of law trumps both politics and corporate influence.

"Elena Kagan has distinguished herself as exceptionally intelligent, knowledgeable and fair-minded. SEIU believes she will focus the Court on how their decisions impact working families' daily lives."
