Joint Statement by Hugo Boss and Workers United, SEIU

Workers United, SEIU and Hugo Boss Cleveland bargaining teams have announced that they have reached a tentative agreement early Friday morning on all issues on a successor contract. Once ratified by the union's 300 members, the scheduled April 27 closure of the company's Brooklyn, Ohio facility will be canceled. The union's ratification vote is scheduled for Friday morning.

The agreement is designed to improve the company's competitive position by increasing its flexibility and reducing costs.

Workers United President Bruce Raynor explained that, "Against all odds, we have saved a critical U.S. apparel manufacturing facility in Brooklyn, Ohio. This is a tremendous result that we attribute to our Hugo Boss members who stood up for their jobs. We thank Governor Strickland, Senator Brown, Congressman Kucinich, Danny Glover, all of our allies in labor, and other leaders in the community who stood beside us to maintain good jobs in Ohio."

Hugo Boss Cleveland is pleased with the result that makes the Cleveland facility more globally competitive.
