SEIU New Report: Wall Street Bilked Taxpayers for $18 Trillion Since Financial Collapse

On eve of G-20 summit, SEIU releases report on impact of collapse on Main Street, previews upcoming campaign against banks

Press Conference call Wednesday at 12 PM

Washington, DC-- On the eve of the G-20 summit and just one year after the financial world collapsed, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) will release a report detailing the severe impact the crisis has had on working families. SEIU Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger will hold a press conference call on Wednesday, September 23 at 12 PM to discuss the report and preview the union's upcoming series of demonstrations at major financial houses across the country.

"We now understand that the actions of a small group of greedy CEOs and Wall Street investors can wreak havoc on the global economy, yet we still haven't taken the necessary steps to prevent a future crisis," said Burger. "Meanwhile, the very people who caused the crisis are doing everything in their power to maintain the status quo, while taxpayers are left holding the bag. "The G-20 needs to take action to ensure that we don't return to business as usual," said Burger.
