Andy Stern and Anna Burger to Mobilize SEIU Members and Voters in Final GOTV Push for Obama and Senate Candidates Franken and Merkley
Washington, D.C.--SEIU President Andy Stern and Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger will hit the campaign trail this weekend in a final push to win key battleground states for Barack Obama and Senate races for pro-working family candidates Al Franken in Minnesota and Jeff Merkley in Oregon.
Stern will mobilize SEIU members working hard to turnout voters for Obama, Franken and Merkley in Indiana, Minnesota and Oregon, respectively, joining SEIU members knocking on doors in these states. Stern will also introduce Franken at a rally following the final Minnesota debate on Sunday in St. Paul.
Burger will head to Indiana, Ohio, Missouri and Philadelphia to join SEIU members working hard to ensure these states end up in Obama's column on election night.
This weekend, more than 100,000 nurses, janitors and other volunteers across the country will join the 4,000 SEIU members, local and International staff who've taken extended time off the job to bring home victory for Barack Obama, Joe Biden and other candidates promising the change working families need.
