Burger Moderating Town Halls in West Lafayette, Indianapolis, and Terre Haute

Washington, D.C.-- On Monday, SEIU Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger will moderate town hall meetings with Governors Kathy Sebelius of Kansas and Janet Napolitano of Arizona in West Lafayette, Indianapolis, and Terre Haute, Indiana for Barack Obama.

With 5,000 members in Indiana, SEIU members are working hard to win this battleground state for Obama. SEIU members have registered more than 14,000 new voters in Indiana this year and are now focused on educating and mobilizing voters to vote early and turnout on Election Day.
In Indiana, SEIU members:
Knocked on more than 32,000 doors so far;
Made nearly 59,000 phone calls so far;
Are delivering 3 different pieces of early vote and GOTV literature to 70,000 voters by Election Day;
Continue to drive people to the polls to vote early;
Will have more than 1,000 volunteers on Election Day alone.

SEIU also worked with community allies to secure a victory for thousands of voters in Gary, Hammond, and East Chicago who were being denied early voting locations and set up a voter hotline to answer early voting questions and coordinate rides to the polls.
