SEIU Member to Introduce Barack Obama at Houston Rally Tonight

Janitor Says Obama is the Change Workers Need to Improve Their Lives

Houston, TX-Tonight, SEIU member and janitor Israel Gomez will introduce Sen. Barack Obama at a campaign rally in Houston.

Senator Obama offers the change workers need to create jobs with paychecks that can support our families, access to affordable health care, and a better life for our children,"said Gomez. "He understands the challenges families like mine face each day because he's stood with us his entire career. He'll be the best president workers have had in generations."

SEIU represents 20,000 workers in Texas, including more than 5,000 Houston janitors who united with SEIU to win health care, fair wages, improved working conditions, and a better life for their families.

SEIU members are supporting Obama with an aggressive political effort. With more than 150,000 members in the upcoming primary states, SEIU will mobilize thousands to go door-to-door, work the phones, and will send mail about their support for Obama. SEIU also will have a substantial presence on television and radio in every critical state.
