What Is the Bus Campaign?

Driving Up Standards Together is an international campaign of SEIU, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and the United Kingdom's Transport and General Workers Union.

Our three unions are working in partnership to unite bus workers, parents, community leaders, and public officials in order to raise standards for service, employment, and safety in the global bus industry. This transatlantic partnership was formed to hold U.K.-based bus companies accountable to bus workers and consumers in both countries.

As part of this campaign, bus workers from the U.S. have traveled to Scotland, the headquarters of U.K.-based bus company FirstGroup (operating in the U.S. as First Student). First Group is a multinational bus and rail corporation that claims to respect and value its union employees in the U.K., but actively opposes efforts by its U.S. employees to join together in a union.

The campaign continues to engage drivers, parents, political leaders, and community members in the drive for better standards in the bus industry both at home and abroad.
