Good Jobs, Green Jobs: A National Green Jobs Conference

A National Green Jobs Conference

GreenJobsConference.org

 - March 13-14, 2008
 - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
 - Co-convened by SEIU
 - SEIU's Gerry Hudson to speak

 Objectives:

 - Provide a forum for strategic interaction between the different constituents with a stake in the developing green economy;

 - Showcase key policy initiatives for the rapid expansion of green economic development; and

 - Demonstrate to the public the importance and promise of the emerging green economy.

Can we improve the environment while also creating good jobs? A growing number of people answer a resounding yes to this question, and they will be gathering at the Good Jobs Green Jobs conference in Pittsburgh March 13 and 14.

Co-sponsored by SEIU, this conference is designed to help jump-start a national dialogue about the benefits of a new green economy—an economy based on clean energy, green buildings, and green manufacturing.

Big Ideas  |  Innovative Strategies  |  Best Practices

The participants will include labor union activists and environmentalists, policy makers, scientists, and workforce development specialists. Together, we will share the best thinking about how we can revitalize our manufacturing sector and create good-paying jobs, drive green building and construction, and realize the economic benefits of global warming solutions.

This conference is organized by the Blue Green Alliance, a strategic partnership between the United Steelworkers and the Sierra Club.
