SEIU’s Henry on Trump’s nonsensical minimum wage comments

WASHINGTON—In response to Donald Trump’s comments on the minimum wage Tuesday, July 26 on ‘The O’Reilly Factor,’ SEIU International President Mary Kay Henry issued the following statement:

“People are working longer and harder to make ends meet — a reality Donald Trump seems to be completely divorced from. This is a man supposedly worth billions who doesn't understand that a weekly paycheck determines whether you can make the rent, have enough gas to get to work, or keep your family fed.

“Trump took three positions on the minimum wage in three minutes. This isn't trivial. $7.25 isn't enough, and Trump rambled nonsensically about leaving it up to the states after questioning whether we need a federal minimum wage at all. The 64 million people who make less than $15 an hour need a raise, and only Hillary Clinton will lead and deliver on this issue for working families.”
